Amy was born on March 2nd, 1983 in Subiaco, making her a young woman of 19years old. Born to the good parents of Douglas and Lynette Jordan, Amy had 3 older sisters and 1 older brother, making her the “baby” of the family, as she is still commonly referred to today. Spending her first 7 years in the suburb of Noranda, in Perth Western Australia, Amy became a “Mummy’s Girl”, needing the company of her beloved Mother at all times. She studied dancing, and enjoyed attending Brownies with her best friend, Tammy Knox, who lived only 5 houses down the street. Together, they would spend many days together, generally at Amy’s house!!

Amy began her first of many schooling years in 1987 when she began Pre-Primary at Camboon Primary School. She continued on here, following in the footsteps of her older siblings, until over the Summer of 1989/1990, the Jordan Family moved into the new suburb of Ballajura and she completed her primary schooling at Ballajura Primary School, with her new best friend Sarah McLachlan.

As a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, Amy was baptised in March of 1990 and continued to live the life that she did, enjoying cooking(particularly with Sarah!), reading, writing, and playing netball, like all girls her age.

Amy completed her Secondary Education at the brand new Ballajura Community College, where she spent years studying, being a student councillor, learning the flute and hanging out with her best friends, Rebecca Morganti and Sarah McLachlan. Together these girls did many things together, in particular, stalking guys J, exploring the suburb on their bikes, having sleepovers(yes, still mainly at Amy’s house!), attending their church program of Young Womens, which included camps and weekly activities and just hanging out!

At Amy’s high school graduation ceremony in 2000(yes, that is several years after Bryans!) not only did she get her Certificate of Completion, but she also received the Shire Of Swan Citizenship Award and got special mention in the speech from the School Captain, due to her hard work on the Student Council and various other committees, such as the Ball and Yearbook Committee, which although were extra work, she found it highly enjoyable and was able to increase relationships with friends, and meet more people.

Yes, you might now wonder about the personality of Amy. Well, you can ask people you know about her! Many people saw her as the girl that would not slip up, she never did anything wrong, always stuck the rules and was from “Planet Jordan” where the whole family was …uh…. Dare we say it… “perfect”.  But those of you, if there are any other than Bryan, who know Amy extremely well, will know that Amy hates this label, and is the first to admit that she is far from perfect. She has had her share of mistakes and wrong decisions, but with the guidelines and standards of the church that she belongs to, Amy is able to continue striving to do her best, attempting to improve when things go wrong.

Fortunately for Amy, she had done well enough in her TEE to receive her first preference, and in 2001, she began a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology at Curtin University. After several weeks however, she realised that she was burnt out from the last several years of study in high school (please note, that Amy is one of those people who has to work her butt off to get average marks, and thus dislikes people like Bryan who can do minimal study and get good marks!!), so she withdrew from her course, and spent the year working 2, sometimes 3 jobs, saving for the trip that her family was planning to America in July the following year.

Working in her parents business, a “Pure and Natural” franchise, a “Baskin Robbins” store, and then as a Chiropractor Assistant at “ABC Chiropractic”, she spent the year working, fulfilling her church calling as the Enrichment leader, planning fun yet spiritual, monthly activities for the women in the local area, hanging out with friends and saving.

The opportunity came up for Amy to attend a Young Single Adult Convention in Brisbane, a convention run by the church for all single people between 18 and 30, where there are many great activities and friendships formed, and she jumped at the chance. So, together with her best friends, Bec and Sarah, and some other good friends from Perth, they jet-setted off to Brisbane where… yes… she met Bryan Pilkington from Adelaide.

She now studies a Bachelor of Education / Bachelor of Science at Murdoch Universtiy, with plans of being a high school teacher, majoring in Maths and minoring in English. However, with marriage plans in the far-too-distant for her future (uh… 9 months!) she has decisions to make as to whether she continues with this. She still works for “Pure and Natural” and “ABC Chiropractic” and fulfils her church calling by playing the piano for the Primary children.

Amy’s family has increased also, as she now also has a sister-in-law (with the exact same name as her!… but not for too much longer!!!) and a brother in law, Brad, who now has 2 children with whom Amy loves to spend time with. She enjoys swimming, bike riding, cooking… eating!!! (mind you, beware, because her tastebuds are somewhat different to many peoples!!), writing in her journal and writing poetry, organising her Book of Rememberance ( her personal history), organising photos, and hanging out with friends.

Amy has many other things that she enjoys but she can’t think of them right now so she is hoping that her FINANCE!!! Will add a few words to finish this off because she doesn’t particularly know how to. So… uhh…. Yeah….

Amy

Well, Amy seems to have done a fairly good job at giving you all a little of her history and the things that she has done in her life but she seems to have neglected telling you all about her really good qualities and character in any semblance of detail. I suppose then that it is left to me to do that.

I like to tease her a little because she is three years younger than I and but I really shouldn’t because her youth is a real bonus. Amy can be very young at heart and her youth and vibrance are both refreshing and invigorating. She is a lot of fun to be around. She claims that she’s only as fancy free as I say she is when she is hanging about me, not needing to worry about what I might think, knowing that she has already impressed me enough. If this is the case then I’m sorry to all of you who wish to share in her fun nature because it’s all mine. We have lots of fun singing together, making up silly stories, playing with kids and laughing a lot.

She has worked a lot of jobs hasn’t she! I must say that I have always been impressed by her ability to work and work well. If she is set a task that she is confident in she will work extremely competently and from the character references that I have read from former employers, she is always well liked and receives responsibilities quickly as she gains the trust of others. She has never been fired but is always leaving for other reasons and is given the invitation to return whenever she wants to. Just look at all the effort that she put into school too, she won so many awards. She’s a champ!

She is incredibly endearing, meaning that it is very easy to become friends with her. She expresses interest in others and listens well to what you say. When I first met her on the YSA convention I was in the mood to get to know someone and it wasn’t hard to get to know Amy. I had been talking to and meeting heaps of people over the weekend but I had been frustrated by the shallow and stunted conversations that I was having. I was using all my best ‘getting to know you’ techniques but we can only talk about them for so long before they run out of things to say. When I started talking to Amy she turned all the questions I had back upon me and it was neat to finally find someone who was as interested in me as I was in them (though she wasn’t at that time as interested in me as I was in her, if you know what I mean. I had to wear her down.)

Did she mention that she is a champion swimmer? Well in the last Dianella Stake Swimming Carnival she came first place in the 50m freestyle, beating her arch nemesis, Naomi MacDonald! Some of you may be aware of how much of a champion Naomi is and so this is a big deal for Amy and I. She isn’t a very good teacher when it comes to swimming though, for she hasn’t taught me to do anything and I still stuck with the doggie paddling but she is a fish herself. I’m so proud of her.

I don't have to be biased about this next point, Amy is beautiful… hands down. She has curly, and Imean curly hair which admitedly took a little getting used to. Now I've come to see the things she can do with it and I'm not lying when i say that there are some jealous women out there. She's soft and cuddly, affectionate and cute. She's especially cute when she’s eating and totally disinterested in anything else. Her face takes on a softness and a warmth that melts me. Its at those times that I most wish to grab a hold of her and hug her till she bursts but, I never get that chance. She's totally obtuse to the affect she has upon me and I'm left to admire her from what may as well be afar.

Amy is a dedicated country music lover, loudly playing modern country tunes as she drives - a major past time of hers. She's good on the road, a little speedy maybe but that's the way I like her. I get frusrated by drivers who don't take opportunities on the road and she sure takes them. Perhaps the music helps her go fast but then, you would think that dance music would have more of an effect than country. Amy also listens to current hits and popular pop music.

She didn't say much about her eating habits except to say that she has a different set of tastebuds to most. I'll elaborate that for you. She doesn't eat normal food! She won't eat vegetables, most fruits, there's down right refusal on melons, casseroles, seafood of all kinds, hot dogs... the list goes on. It's not like she just won't enjoy this food if she's forced to eat it - she just won't eat it. I pity the man who marries her for he will live on meat and potatoes... hang on, that man is me! I will survive K .

This girl is perfect for me, I must admit. She's kind, appreciative, fun, affectionate, charming, sharing and sweet. I didn't know why it was that I liked her at first, I just know that I liked her. Now that I love her I know why and each day, the list of reasons gets longer and longer.
